About Us

Letter From Pastor Ron

Welcome and thank you so much for taking the time to visit our web site.  I am the pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, Ron Lauber, and my wife is Roxanne.  I wanted to talk about our mission, vision, and goals.  Please review the following and please feel free to call us for more information or questions.

People are important.  HCF is an extension of God's great love for people.  It is a place to both personally experience and publicly share His love with those around us.  It is a place in which individuals of every age, race, or nationality may come together to develop both casual acquaintances and lifetime friendships.

To us, going to church  is much more than just a weekly religious obligation.  It is a joyous celebration of believers who come together to enthusiastically worship the Lord with all of our hearts.

Our heart for God's work in this church is very simple.  First, we are praying people.  You'll probably  notice that we pray a lot.  We rely heavily on the power of God for all that we do.  Unless the Lord builds the house, we are laboring in vain.  So, prayer is foundational to every at HCF.

Second, our hearts are concentrated on outreach and discipleship.  Therefore, the major emphasis of nearly every ministry in this church is geared toward helping people meet God.  We believe that God has called us to reach out and share the message of grace in Christ and to thoroughly equip people with the practical and spiritual tools for life found in the Bible.

HCF is both Christ-centered and people -oriented.  We offer a wide variety of ministries to meet the many needs of all people of all ages.  This broad approach to church life makes us large enough to be effective, personal enough to meet your individual needs, and active enough to need your help.

We extend a loving invitation to you and your family to get better acquainted with us, and to share in what God is doing in this exciting fellowship.

Ron & Roxane Lauber, Senior Pastor

About the Bible?

We believe the Old & New Testaments, in their original languages, are the divinely inspired revelation of God and His purpose to all mankind.  In the words of the Bible itself ... "men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God" (2 Peter 1:21 NASB).

About God?

We believe in the God revealed in the Bible  and in creation.  He has always existed and He always will.  He is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  Deut. 6:4;  Is 43:10,11;  Matt. 28:19

About Jesus Christ?

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became a man in order to put God's great plan for humanity into effect.   He did this by offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross.  John 17:5;  Phil. 2:5 - 11;  Heb. 1:2

About Man and His Needs?

We believe man was created in the image of God.  And although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin".  This attitude separates us from God and causes many problems in life.  Thus, every person has a need for  the saving power of Jesus.  Gen. 1:26, 2:17, 3:6;  Rom. 5:12 - 19.

About the Holy Spirit?

Christ taught a distinction of Persons in the Godhead which He expressed in specific terms as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  The Scriptures reveal this as the normal experience for Christians and teach that every believer should earnestly seek and expect this baptism.  Acts 1:5, 2:3, 5:32, 19:1 - 7

What Ordinances Do We Practice?

We generally observe Holy Communion or the Lord's Supper regularly.  We also practice water baptism by immersion as a believer's public declaration of his identification with Jesus Christ and of his relationship with God through faith.  Matt. 28:19;  Rom. 6:4.  We do not baptize infants, but we encourage parents to dedicate their children to the Lord in a public worship service.

What Do We Believe About Healing?

We believe in healing as God's will for mankind.  Is. 53:4 - 5;  James 5:13 - 16

The Mission, Vision & Goals of Harvest Christian Fellowship

Impacting North Platte and the World for Jesus!

Our vision is to reach people with the good news that God loves them and desires a relationship with them.  We dream of 1500 people committing themselves to becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ here at HCF.  We dream of  a network of 100 small groups being raised up providing support, encouragement and acceptance to those who are seeking to grow in Christ - likeness.  We dream of raising up gifted leaders who are equipped with the vision, character, skills, and knowledge to feed the flock in our church, across the street and around the world.  We dream of an age - appropriate life development process that leads our children and youth to fall in love with the Lord, to commit themselves to the fellowship of the church, mature spiritually, discover their shape for ministry and understanding their life mission in the world.  We believe that a Great Commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will grow a great church.

Our Principles of Ministry

    We are passionate for Jesus.

We are prayerful in our pursuits.

        We are people - focused.

        We are preparing disciples.

        We are planting ministries.

The goal of this vision is to bring glory to God by presenting Jesus Christ with as many Christ - like disciples as we possibly can before He returns.

Membership ClassThroughout the year, we offer membership classes for those who would like to learn more about HCF. This 6-week class gives a histroy of our Wesleyan background and what we are all about. We go over basic Christian principles, Bible study techniques, and discipleship values. A spiritual gifts assessment is also available at the conclusion of the class to help you find your personality traits and talents as well as to determine what area of service and ministry you would be most fitted for.

Small Groups.   As our church grows, we believe that the best way to get the followship and support that we all need is through Small Groups. We offer a community study where numerous groups use the same curriculum, meeting on different days and locations. In addition, topical studies are available. It's our prayer that everyone at HCF finds a group that fits them. Contact the church office [308-534-4563] for details of current studies.

Missions.  Harvest Christian Fellowship provides support for foreign missionaries and home missions in the United States.  Some who attend this church give special offerings in the direction of missions.  Such offerings can be designated on the offerings envelope.  Be assured that funds designated will be directed according to the wishes of the giver.  As well as financial support, groups of teens and adults periodically go on foreign missions trips and give of themselves to serve the Lord in missions.
